Sensory Diet:

A sensory diet is a scheduled, meaningful set of different sensory activities that the kid performs throughout their day to ensure that their body is receiving the sensory input needed. The goal is to provide the input before anticipated reactions. Every child is different and may respond differently to activities, it may take some time to find the right activities that work for your child. Taking note of how your child responds to the activities and speaking with their occupational therapist can help to find the right set of activities for you and your child to implement in your daily routine.

Using a sensory diet can help with

  • attention
  • regulation
  • arousal
  • adaptive response
