Astronaut Training/Spinning Protocol

The spinning protocol (astronaut training) was developed by Mary Kawar MS, OTR after years of researching and studying the vestibular system. The vestibular system helps us understand where our body is in space and assists in balance as we navigate the world. The astronaut training helps to develop optimal vestibular function. Astronaut training uses specific linear and rotary activation to ensure that our vestibular system can support efficient and effective movement for the development of social and play skills. Movement is key to all aspects of life. The vestibular system is also responsible for balancing and modulating all of the various types of sensation, including vision and hearing, so as to enhance learning and memory.
